Local manufacturer Richardson Seating specializes in commercial furniture and custom logo bar stools. Richardson Seating is a Chicago based manufacturer of commercial restaurant furniture. In addition to its line of restaurant furniture, it also manufactures a line of custom logo bar stools.

Although these two products lines seem very different, they are actually quite similar. The standard logo bar stool is just a simple round seat bar stool with a logo. The round seat bar stool is a staple bar stool in most restaurants and bars. If you take a clear upholstery vinyl and reverse print a logo on the underside of that material, you can turn a standard bar stool into a logo bar stool.

This was realized 30 years ago when Richardson Seating manufactured its first logo bar stool. The first logo bar stool manufactured by Richardson Seating was simply a bumper sticker on the top of a black bar stool. This logo bar stool was made for a large manufacturer of cars.

As you can imagine the stickers didn’t last. Over a few weeks, the stickers came off and the bar stools were just regular restaurant bar stools again. The second round of logo bar stools consisted of black vinyl with the company logo silk screened on the top of black vinyl.

This lasted longer than the sticker but still not quite good enough. The ink would come off on people’s clothes on a warm day and would scratch off in a few months. In order to preserve the logo for years, Richardson Seating tried using clear vinyl. They screen printed to logo on the reverse side of the vinyl so that it showed through.

This practice allowed the logos to look great and stay looking great for years. Since they were using traditional screen printing inks, all Pantone colors could be matched. This practice has been ideal for logo bar stools for almost 30 years.

A few years ago, Richardson Seating was able to improve upon this system. One of the drawback s of screen printing logo bar stools is that there is a lot involved with screens and setup. It didn’t really make sense to produce low quantities of logo bar stools. Richardson Seating fixed this by incorporating digital printing into their production mix.

There are other ways to put a logo on a restaurant bar stool and have it remain permanent. One of the best methods is embroidery. Embroidery allows many options in regards to color and stitching. You can have many different colors by using many different threads. Depending on how tight you make the stitch, you can come up with different types of patterns.

The last way to decorate a bar stool is to emboss or deboss the bar stools. Embossing and debossing puts a permanent imprint in the material used to build the stool by using heat and pressure to cause a permanent imprint into the material. This embossed material can then be cut and sewn to create a imprinted bar stool.
